It is often said that actions speak louder than words, but sometimes, silence speaks even louder. In the past few years, human society has faced some incomprehensible events and challenges that triggered broad public actions and protests, leaving some of them to render us speechless. Whether in society or psychotherapy, silence transcends the mere absence of sound. It reflects the field, carrying various possible meanings that illuminate the complexities of human interaction and the transformative potential within introspective spaces. Understanding these subtleties is crucial for navigating the nuances of connection and dialogue in both societal and therapeutic fields.
COORDINATOR: Ivana Vidakovic Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Belgrade, Serbia, and MA and D. Psych. Hon. in Gestalt Psychotherapy from GPTIM Malta; holds EAGT and ECP certificates. She is a psychotherapist with a private practice, working with individuals, groups, and organizations as a trainer, supervisor, and coach since 2006, she also works internationally as an associate lecturer and supervisor for various gestalt training institutes in Serbia, Malta, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Greece, Ukraine, Georgia, Belgium, etc.
Within EAGT, Ivana has been a longstanding member of the Research Committee, and the Human Rights & Social Responsibility Committee and a member and the chair of the Professional Competencies and Qualitative Standards Committee. With 15 years of experience, she has worked with people in need and non-governmental organizations in post-war communities in the Balkans. More recently, she extended her work on organizations and the public sector.
Ivana has authored articles and book chapters covering topics such as trauma diagnosis and therapy, research in psychotherapy, supervision, professional competencies of psychotherapists, people development, gestalt work in organizations and communities, etc. Her work has been translated into many languages.
