The handbook contains an introduction to Gestalt psychotherapy, a presentation of its basic concepts, principles and applications, based on a rich bibliography by acknowledged and well respected authors-teachers, Gestalt therapist and supervisors. Finally it provides an extensive bibliography that is available to trainees in order to help them in their studies.

Gestalt Foundation News

The Gestalt Foundation since very early on, by 2004, has decided to expand in the field of publishing.

This started with the biannual publication of the Centers’ newsletter “GESTALT FOUNDATION NEWS”, which includes texts on theory, a great number of articles, interviews and book presentations.

Always keeping in mind the need to enrich the Bibliography on Gestalt theory in Greek in 2015 the Gestalt Foundation, Psychotherapy & Training Center, decided to edit and reprint in Greek the book “Gestalt Therapy: Perspectives & Application” Edwin Nevis (Editor).

“Gestalt Therapy: Perspectives & Application” (2000) is a classic handbook which with its publication in 1992 marked a worldwide regeneration of interest in the study of the Gestalt therapy approach.

In this book Edwin Nevis, one of the most prominent authors, thinkers and Gestalt psychotherapist of the last 40 years, has made a clever selection from a series of essays, written by Gestalt therapist, that although maintain their individuality and uniqueness, have a common thread which is the clarity of perspective and commitment to the development and promotion of the Gestalt therapy model. It includes essays by: Ilana Rubenfeld, Sonia Nevis, Gordon Wheeler, Joel Latner, Robert Goulding, Joseph Zinker, Violet Oaklander, Joseph Melnick, Cynthia Harris and others…

INTRODUCTORY WORKSHOP (Online)

  • Basic Principles of Gestalt therapy

In this workshop we explore the history, philosophy and basic principles of Gestalt theory, especially its phenomenological, existential, experiential, dialogical and relational roots. According to Fritz. Perls, Ralph Hefferline and Paul Goodman (1951) the goal of therapy is assimilation through increased awareness and authentic contact, which inevitably lead to change and growth. Gestalt consultants in organizations feel the situation through their personal experience and with presence they share their phenomenological observations, experience and awareness, thus supporting the organization and its members in a process towards healthy and creative change

  • Creative Leadership: A New Model for Organizational Development and Personal Professional Development

In this workshop we explore the role of leadership through the lens of the Gestalt approach. We will experiment, discover and bring into focus, at an individual and group level, key themes that answer questions such as:  What are the leadership characteristics that distinguish us? How can we highlight them? What models of leadership bring healthy development and growth to organizations? What is the function of leadership in the organizational field? How does the "figure" of leadership emerge from the organizational "background"? What are the new leadership paradigms in organizations today? The workshop is based on case studies with practical applications for the organizations we are part of, and for our professional lives.

WORKSHOP 3 (Online)

  • Group Dynamics and Gestalt in Organizations

Each group, whether transient or more permanent, develops its own dynamic that goes through a cycle of various phases. In businesses and organizations, this phenomenon is very common, and the role of the Leader, Manager or Coach is differentiated in each phase so that the team can be functional, productive and have nourishing relationships with each other. In this experiential workshop, the group comes to understand the range of differences, while identifying patterns and increasing awareness both on an individual and group level. During the processing stage of the experiential activity, the necessary theoretical input is provided so that personal conclusions can be drawn and goals for individual improvement set. The workshop is given context by a case study in which gestalt coaching has been carried out.

DATES: Saturday, February 18th, 2023                          TIME: 12:00-20:00

              Sunday, February 19th, 2023                            TIME: 12:00-20:00

WORKSHOP 4 (Online)

The Art of Change through the Eyes of Gestalt

Organizations are required to develop and survive in a constantly changing environment, and their principal means of survival is their ability to adapt to these changes.

This process, the transition from the current situation to a new one, is not always easy, as there are various obstacles along the way, one of which is resistance to change. According to Gestalt theory, by experiencing who we are, recognizing patterns and understanding the field, the process of change can begin. The uniqueness of the Gestalt approach is that it supports and strengthens the organization and the people in it through phenomenological observation, awareness and the meaning-making process. The aim of this workshop is to explore ways to enhance organizational awareness through references to theory and case studies, as well as through the use of role play.

DATES: Saturday, March 18th, 2023                                           TIME: 12:00-20:00

              Sunday, March 19th, 2023                                             TIME: 12:00-20:00

WORKSHOP 5 (Online)

  • Addressing Challenging Issues in Organizations

(Conflict, Abuse, Family Business)

Issues such as abuse of power, conflict, bullying, harassment (as well as the intense dynamics that arise in of family businesses) often exist in organizations. Invariably, we avoid them or try to solve them "vertically". In this workshop we explore and flesh out, theoretically and experientially, ways to find resolution in these situations, thereby contributing to a functional and healthy life within the organization.

 DATES: Saturday, April 22nd, 2023                                TIME: 12:00-20:00

               Sunday, April 23rd, 2023                                  TIME: 12:00-20:00

TRAINER: George Stamatis,

ASSOCIATE TRAINER: Deirdre Foley

WORKSHOP 6 (Residential)

  • “Diagnosis” and Constructive Intervention in the Organization

In this workshop we will deal with how, under the Gestalt lens, we proceed with a "diagnosis" of the Organization. That is, how we "explore" the Organization through experience, contact and awareness of the situation, context, structure and the existing process of the Organization. We will work on specific cases (case studies), but also on experiences we all have had in the Organizations we have worked with or collaborated with. Finally, we will deal with issues related to roles, patterns and culture in healthy but also in "dysfunctional" organizational environments, as well as the interventions that can be made, which result in the healthy and creative adjustment of the organization.

DATES: Thursday, May 18th, 2023                                  TIME: 15:00-20:00

              Friday, May 19th, 2023                                       TIME: 10:00-20:00

ASSOCIATE TRAINER: Deirdre Foley

WORKSHOP 7 (Residential)

  • Working with Case Studies
