Training Goals
The programs main goal is to teach the theory and methodology of Gestalt psychotherapy. Particular emphasis is given to integration of the principles and methodology of Gestalt psychotherapy in the participant’s professional practice and the development of their own personal style of work. Aside from the acquiring of professional skills, a significant part of training is focused on personal growth. Trainees gain insight of their own personal development and the structure of their interpersonal relationships. Within a framework of security, challenge and group dynamic, trainees explore new and authentic ways of existing and coexisting.
Trainings’ program Philosophy
The program’s philosophy is the, where possible, complete, current and updated bibliographical coverage of the Gestalt psychotherapy theory, as well as the continuous supervised experiential training and clinical practice.
The program balances between theory, experience and practice. Trainees are active in constructing the program through the interaction and exchange of roles and experiences with other year’s trainees.
Basic elements of the process is the dialogue, the phenomenological meeting between trainer- trainee, the interpersonal relationships within the group dynamic, the acceptance of diversity, the invitation for conscious and responsible relationship between organism- environment.
We firmly believe in the principle of “Equal Opportunity” for all in both training and psychotherapy, regardless of religion, race, political affiliations, sexual orientation, social status and origin, physical and mental capability, or age group.
The Gestalt Foundation vision is to help, as much as possible, the Greek society through professional and volunteer work in various Gestalt therapy application areas.
